Jovy's TIPS AND TRICKS
NAIL ARTS
Tip #1 - If you get polish on your skin, don't wipe it off right away.
Wait until it dries and dip a cotton swab in some polish remover. You
can easily remove the excess polish with the cotton swab.
Tip #2 - To make you nail polish look less sloppy, and like you got it
done at the salon, avoid painting your cuticles by pushing them back
before applying polish.
Tip #3 - Buy polish remover at the dollar store. It's inexpensive and
works just the same as polish remover you buy anywhere else.
Tip #4 - If you are not wearing polish, apply a nail strengthener or
top coat to make your nails shine and look clean and well pampered.
Tip #5 - Instead of buying expensive dotting tools, use a toothpick.
For bigger dots, use a pencil or ball point pen. For even bigger dots,
use a sewing pin or thumb tack. Experiment with different tools you
find around the house to get different size dots.
Tip #6 - Buy simple tools such as nail clippers and buffers at the
dollar store. They are less expensive and are usually the same quality
as any other drug store.
Tip #7 - Alternatives to Art Deco's or any other thin brushed nail
polish: Toothpicks, nail art brushes or thin paint brushes, old make-up
brushes (eyeliner brushes for liquid eyeliner works well.)
Tip #8 - Always apply your first brush stroke down the middle of your
nails, then apply one stroke on each side of the nail. This results in
getting a nice, even coat and you will have a nice manicure in no time.
Tip #9 - Skip the pricey nail salons. With just a few basic skills, you
can get the same manicure or pedicure for a lot less. Which would you
rather pay: $$$ or $? Thought so.
Tip #10 - Roll the bottle of polish between your palms to mix it well and avoid air bubbles.
Tip #11 - Blowing on your nails to dry them will dull their shine.
Tip #12 - Buy nail polish in a quick-dry formula. It will dry up to three times faster than regular polish.
Tip #13 - Apply polish in thin coats.
Tip #14 - Paint one hand at a time to cut down on sumdges, and let it dry before starting another.
Tip #15 - File your nails all the same way. Having some rounded and
some squared will look as if you don't pay attention to the way your
nails look. Which, if you watch my videos, isn't true.
Tip #16 - Give your nails a manicure at least once a month to keep them
healthy and clean. If you can, its best to once a week. Don't give your
nails a manicure more than once a week. It's not healthy for your nails
to do so.
Tip #17 - Check my blog for reviews before buying a product. I'll spend the time and money, so you don't have to :)
